There are some factors that go a long way to determine the recovery of your skin after a laser tattoo removal. The recovery of the skin is one of the many concerns people have that make them to live with the tattoo. The major factors that determine the regeneration of skin tissue are dependent on the individual’s immune system response.

Many people wonder why the recovery periods very greatly among individuals who no longer want a tattoo. The recovery of the skin is based on some certain factors. Let’s have a look:

Skin type:

The skin type determines the healing time of the area injured from the tattoo removal. There are different types of skin and these skin types vary from soft to a bit harder, dense texture. Getting a tattoo removal on a softer skin may take a shorter time to heal. This is because the epidermis and dermis of the softer skin tend to regenerate more cells to repair the burnt area. The much tougher skin may take longer to heal as it needs more time for skin cell regeneration.

Circulation:

The laser removal method employs destroying the bond holding the tattoo ink together. This ink then moves through the system in the body known as the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system takes the decomposed ink into the circulatory system. The circulatory system processes the ink through the liver before it is passed out. The quick functions of an individual’s circulatory system go a long way in the quick recovery of the skin area. This is because the system plays a role in quickly breaking down the ink from the skin.

Tattoo placement:

The placement of a tattoo in areas where there is no quick regeneration of skin cells may cause problems if there is a need for removal. The skin has areas where it is much easier for the skin to repair its damaged cells. This determines to a certain degree whether the tattoo will heal on time after a removal effort.

Ink colour:

The colour of the ink is a major challenge for some tattoo removers. Getting a multi- coloured tattoo may be a thrill at the time. However, that thrill may fade when you discover that you need to get the tattoo removed. There are several laser machines today that cannot break down pigmented ink in the skin. There are some that can only break down a few colours. Some mishaps have been noted where the laser works and leaves out entire colours untouched. This is because laser technology focuses on heating up the pigment and breaking the bond holding the ink together. When these colours cannot be broken down, they remain very visible even after other colours are gone.

Layers of the ink:

The layers of the ink also have something to do with the quick skin recovery after a tattoo removal. Some individuals are mostly notorious for getting “removals by replacement”. This is a very popular practice for tattoo lovers. But there’s a downside to it. A removal by replacement means that there are now added ink layers on the existing layers of the old tattoo. This means in the event a removal is needed, someone may have to get twice the normal treatment for the tattoo to be removed. This means that the time for healing may be twice the normal period. It may also mean that the pain experienced will be twice as normal.

Conclusion

The above factors determine whether the tattoo will heal on time or not. It is a good choice to get professional medical advice before undergoing a removal.
